Hi all
I got called on to a job .It is external lights everytime i turned them on the fuzes keeps blowing done all the checks on the lights. To no end it still happens any ideas

The fuzes is on an old timer (contacter which turns them on )

Hey.

When you say the fuses are blowing, which fuses do you mean? Is the circuit overloading - how many ouside lights - what size fuse.

Is there water in any of the fittings? Have you tried manually pushing the contactor on to see if they come on? Does this blow the fuse?

Have you tested the polarity of the contactor? Old ones can short between poles.

Cheers:D

Got 2 (fuses) on the contactor which is 10 amp fuses
which one runs five lights outside

The other fuses which is the same (10 amp fuses runs 8 lights outside)
No water in any fittings

Have manually pushing the contactor one set comes on then the fuse blows on the second one

Well you now know which circuit is causing the problem, it is down to stripping down each fitting to check for any damage, shorts etc.

Hi
split the circuit up and test IR you have a short somewhere, unless you see damage on the cable its a fitting or your contactor? take the lamps out for a quick check? what type of fittings are they?
