Hi guys

Does the earth Bonding HAVE to be done at the meter or can it be put on the gas inlet to the boiler in a utility room? Plans have changed and cables already run ?

Also am I right in thinking that if water inlet is in blue pvc pipe Bonding isn't required even tho it is copper on outgoing side of stop cock?

Thanks

gas bond should be as close as practicable to within 600mm from where it enters the building and before any joints. if pipe is direct from meter to boiler, then no problem. as for the water, test the copper in case it's extraneous. >22k resistance to MET no bonding required.

I'd say it's definately over 600mm
Looks like I'm gonna have to clip it around the outside of the house

regs say a close as practicable. to avoid pikey bait on the outside, near boiler is as close as pracicable.
