Hello Everyone,

We are looking to buy this house but the EICR report have a couple of C2's. Any help advice on these is much appreciated.

5.11 - Provision of additional protection by RCD not exceeding 30mA
For mobile equipment not exceeding a rating of 32 A for outdoor use only

8.0 Locations containing a bath or shower
8.6 suitability of equipment for external influences for installed location in terms of IP rating

both of above are marked as C2. Can i please ask what do these mean and how does this impact us?
Also can this be something that can be ignored and what kind of cost am I looking at to get these fixed.

Many thanks in advance.

Does it give any more details of what the equipment is in the bathroom that they have given the C2 for?

Best guess,
change the bathroom light to one designed for a bathroom

either disconnect outside socket that was a DIY job or get a sparky to add an rcd to it,

would not expect a huge bill but without seeing it, it is hard to comment further.

Bathroom: What electrical equipment of any kind is within 600mm ( two feet) of the edge of a shower or bath?
