I'm not being rude here but some of the questions asked by regestered NICEIC/qualified/17th edition sparks on this forum are....er how should i put this....You should know what your doing if your an electrican. Fair enough there are some complex wiring issues but some of it is first year C&G.
There is some scarey stuff here....

Please don't take offence.

It is of course better to ask though than to try and guess or go in with a hap hazard attitude, thats the beuty of this kind of forum.

Im not a spark myself I just help out with the forum but I wouldn't want anyone doing work in my home without being sure what they were doing.

Oli :)

What i mean is if your working on 3 phase you should KNOW exactly what your doing, none of this erm..is it ok to put all the lights on the brown, all the sockets on the black and everything else on the grey?

the most slowest, incompetant sack of ***** I had ever come across, & bloody arrogant aswell,

Its not just the newly qualified people, of course there are some who couldnt run a **** up in a brewery, but the people who refuse to adjust to change are just as ignorant. Also thanks to one idiot would you be put off taking on a newly qualified person again?

hi there

there seems to me a lot of people who think they are all sparks for all aspects of the industry.

this really annoys me as how can a 2391 tester tell a 50 year experienced site engineer that because he is not part p registered under a domestic installer scheme he is not competent ? The guy built cabinets for all aspects of commercial, industrial and other things and was a domestic sparks for 30 years apprenticed etc. works with part p mr wonderful

Any way this guy has a Niceic guy round to assess him all ok but then i am wandering along with my good old tester tracing out a cable fault and guess what no power coz mr wonderful has disconnected the neutral out of the board and not put the link back in lol:confused:

niceic guys starts pouting muggins stands listens looks laughs and switches the lot off. boom gone mr wondrfful and nicky in the dark:D

puts the link back on mr nicky goes ape sitting there looks at him your not part p etc. walks over to my van chucks him a 2391-20 pass note. silence

told him to look at the board both look a bit mistfied  what they had not thought of was the fact there board was a suboard of a bigger supply and that there board was NOT
the origin of the installation:rolleyes:
slight give away no meter meter at the bottom of the intake door to the plant room !!!!!!!!!

next door is a door marked danger electricity switch room

help let me out somebody when is someone going to tell domestics that commerical is bigger ???

cheers

Maybe there should be no term as electrician as such!
There are many specialisms in the filed of electrical engineering and there is not one person who knows everything about all said fields, it would take way too long, this is why doctors specialise, your GP for example is a referal man, he refers you to a specialist in a relevant field if the problem requires deeper investigation, that I believe is what a forum is for. Any questions been asked by members does not automatically mean they know nothing at all. It means they require an answer to something they may not be familliar with.
OP, why did you join this forum? Perhaps to enlighten us all, or maybe to ask a question?

Incidently, in reply to your your post on which colleges may let you sit the 2330 part 3 exam only I would contact the colleges in the area you may move to by email, cheaper than a phone call ;)

Cheers.

Not at all,
but I will keep a close watch on that person.
