Hi I am reconfiguring a hot wash unit and need to use a flow switch as in attached files.

It controls a light powered relay and timer module I can use a separate relay to control the the others, does this count as a inductive load?

We are talking 25v ac the switch is a reed switch rated at 3A , im not sure if I've blown one up as its showing 12v when it should be open and closing all the relays, or it was just faulty.

There is an example of a capacitor and resistor I guess to take up the spike on an inductive load .

using their examples I get a 0.0023 micro farad cap and a 685 ohm resistior

if I use a second relay to control the others the resistance of the coil is 160 ohm at 25 v my current is 0.156 A with the switch being rated at 3A do I need to bother?

Cheers

max

Marginal, I agree at 24V it's probably not going to harm the switch. I certainly wouldn't bother with 2.3nF and 685Ω. I would be more tempted by the idea of a VDR across the coil.
