wasn't it blair who promised a referendum over european union membership? fair enough, major and the rest must take some responsibility, but it's blair who got us stuck with it.

It was Blair and Brown who said the economy is in safe hands with us until we realised they were racking up the credit card and saying that the banks needed less regulation
that's only because, in bankers, they saw something akin to their own slimy dealings.

i think all polititions should be paid minimum wage for the job they do or nothing at all that might put a few coffers back into the treasury as they caused this mess.
when things improve they could get a realistic wage, they should have a hotel or hostel bought so no more buying houses out of our monney then selling them at a profit.
i wonder how many eaton graduates would go into politics if we took the gravy train from them?

The UK was a full EU member long before Blair came to power.

All politicians make all kinds of promises, especially when on the outside looking in. Are we still that surprised when they fail to deliver?? ..lol!!!

But the real culprits of this world wide recession, is the trading banks and the associated speculators. Pure greed and blatant fraud got us to where we are now. Ironically the only winners, are the very banks and organizations that caused the problems in the first place. Yet to my knowledge, not a single responsible person has been prosecuted, .....rather they have all been progressively rewarded and continue to be rewarded....

Im sure that would solve all our problems. Even better...sack all the politicians and force people on the dole to do their jobs instead.
Theres nothing wrong with politicians in general. Just labour ones.

absolutely right. there's lib dems as well.
Ah but the Lib Dems are in bed with the torys so by implication must be ok in some people's eyes.
I think proportional representation is the way forward.

I received the following in an email - read and cry.

I bet this will make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside!
Can you imagine working for a company that only has a little more than 635 employees, but, has the following employee statistics.

29 have been accused of spouse abuse.
7 have been arrested for fraud.
9 have been accused of writing bad cheques.
17 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses.
3 have done time for assault.
71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit.
14 have been arrested on drug-related charges.
8 have been arrested for shoplifting.
21 are currently defendants in lawsuits.
84 have been arrested for drink driving in the last year.
And collectively, this year alone, they have cost the British tax payer £92,993,748 in expenses!!!

Which organisation is this?

It's the 635 members of the House of Commons.
The same group that cranks out hundreds of new laws each year designed to keep the rest of us in line.

What a bunch of crooks we have running our country - it says it all...And just to top all that they probably have the best 'corporate' pension scheme in the country - whilst trying to ensure that everyone else has the worst possible!!

Nearly all of them have their snouts in the trough, I am convince they are all as bad as each other with very few exceptions.

Just labour ones.

These sort of remarks always put a smile on my face.... They must have extremely short memories, or just too young to know any different!!! BOTH the main political parties are as bad or as good (whichever way you want to look at it) as the other.

Quiet today!

My mate pays me with beer for any works I do for him.
Therefore, me & him claim the moral high ground :-)

Meanwhile, while we're being checked up on taking a cash payment, Baroness Warsi is cleared over rent expenses.

One rule for the tradesmen, one for the mp's
