certification! PLEASE HELP

Can anyone help me regarding certification. Im thinking of starting up on my own and joining the NICEIC domestic scheme. on there website it says they need certification of jobs from the previous 12 months to show them in the assessment. How am i to do this if i haven't been able to sign work off????? its really confusing me and would be very grateful if someone can help me.

Pay and complete 2 jobs through LABC using model forms from bs7671 then get them checked by NIC, or join one of the other schemes think they let you register them with them when you pass and join
