Not big on making friends then? It's not south the act of making tea but the general attitude.
Will you be one of those guys who only sweeps up the mess he's made and won't sweep the whole room?

I have have just served my time and If I acted like that I would have been sacked. You have been given a fantastic opportunity to further your skills. Which you was moaning about in another thread I seem to remember. I've done loads of meaningless tasks which at the time I thought why am I doing this its all part of life at the end of the day your the apprentice and you do what your told to do that's my opinion any way.
ps best of luck with your training

I don't drink tea me self so I definitely won't make it for others who have hands and are capable of doing it themselves. This is how my attitude has been in my current work place and I haven't been shown the door. I'll only carry out my duties at work as per my employment contract states.

I'd really like to work with you!

I don't understand why people are getting --- hurt because I refuse to make the tea. Why would I get sacked if I don't make tea? If thats the case the company is employing me on my capabilities for providing engineers with bevrages and not my capability of learning the trade and becoming qualified

Chip lol haha

Bad attitude..... no of course you dont want to be treated like dirt, but your will expect the guys to train you up and share there knowledge but your not prepared to make them a brew!!! I give you a month

You wouldn't get sacked for not making tea....you would get sacked for not integrating/being compatible with other employees.

If you go in with this attitude, no one will want to work with you

Ah, you're one of those types who have that 'It's not in my job description and I won't get paid for it' attitude, so you sit around twiddling your thumbs instead of showing a bit of enthusiasm and volunteering to help out.
You get to learn more things if you adopt the latter attitude! Amazing really!!! :smilielol5:

How are you going to react when you make mistakes and the guys are taking the micky constantly, because thats what happens.
Stamp your feet and kick off!!

Youz lot want to make the tea go for it guys knock yourselves out. Iv made mistakes where I work now and guys take the mick but I don't loose my bottle over it that comes under banter.

Your the odd one out in the team I suspect haha

You seem like a very likeable guy and im sure you will fit in a treat...... any particular van you wanted???
Maybe they will drop your van off with some brand new tools and test gear in the back on your first day.

As an apprentice you will have your place in this company.the bottom of the heap.
it is up to yourself how you proceed from there.
this generally means doing all the crap jobs until you can prove that your ready for the next step up a level .
The point of tea making is not about tea it's about learning a bit of respect and listening to the boys who will teach you.
Everyone thinks they can run the company better than the md but can they really?
Probably not would be the answer to that.
As oldtimer said earlier it's a totally different environment your going into and there is no I in team.
your working day will be difficult if you show a bad attitude that I can tell you.
as for the apprentice getting a van..... Yeah dream on
the work can for all is a relatively recent invention tbh
when I served my time we had 14 sparks and 7 apprentices.... 3 vans, a shop barrow if you were in the town and public transport!
