Gas bonded with 10mm at front of flat, boiler at back of flat where a 6mm has been linked from it to an extraneous cold water pipe in bathroom.

No other extraneous water pipes in flat.

All continuity good but using the gas pipe as a conductor to link to water pipe.

C3 for 6mm
C3 for non continous bond

Is there a code for using the gas pipe as a link/conductor to the water pipe?

Cheers

543.2.3 a gas pipe shall not be selected as a protective conductor.

I would code this C2, as the water bonding is relying on the use of the gas pipe, and should have its own protective bonding conductor.

There is no requirement for continuous bonding.

Continuous bonding used to be quite common on new build flats where we would take a 10mm to the gas or water then link across to the other...
always seemed a bit lazy to me but I was just a su by so did what the main contractors told me to do...
