Don't think there is any requirement for technical questions, just information about the course and a 'get to know' session.

I doubt very much that it'll be an interview you must pass to get on the course after all, colleges are like businesses these days. They want your money just as much as Sainsburys.

You may have to do an aptitude test, basically it let's them know if your electrician material, or if you should enrol on a plastering course ( learning difficulties) lol

It's simple maths and English, don't worry, you may not even have to do it, although I did.

same as above, i had to do a little test. easy shouldn't really have any problems
if anything one question they might ask i guess is why do you want to be an electrician?

Had key skills maths & English tests to sit and take papers to the tutor. Told him what I wanted and what I currently do, told me that's what sort of people they're looking for and shook hands and said he'd be in touch. Chat lasted less than 5 minutes, key skills tests about 40 minutes. Just waiting to enroll and get started now!

I had to sit an entry exam back in the day but it might have changed since then. It was basic maths and English just to see wether you would be able to deal with all the formulae etc.

Only other thing they checked me for was colour blindness.

I had to sit a basic aptitude test, colour vision test, a simple hand skills test (twisting a bit of wire into a given shape) and a short 'interview' which was just questions like "why do you want to be an electrician?" and "are you afraid of heights?"
Later on in the course one of the tutors revealed it was really just to 'filter out the jokers'. He said anyone who turned up wearing a baseball cap and tracksuit and could barely string a sentence together would most likely be rejected.

Yes the college do want your money, but they might also want the college to have a good reputation; with so many people wanting to become electricians nowadays they might have the luxury of picking people they think have a chance of passing.
