I'm beyond annoyed with this now and was wondering if anyone has any advice on where I stand or has been through anything similar.

I passed my AM2 in July last year and handed in my completed portfolio the same month. It's now been 8 months and just been on the phone and my portfolio hasn't even been looked at!

It took me 4 whole years to complete everything to get my NVQ3 and I'm still stuck on an apprentice wage because I can't prove my competence without an ECS card, I need my NVQ3 cert to support my family.

I've made countless phone calls to the college and get fobbed off every time, I never get a straight answer, is this sort of time scale normal?

What do you guys think am I being inpatient?

Why are you still phoning this college if you just get fobbed off?? ...Get yourself down there in person and don't leave until you have an acceptable answer. I'd also be in touch with the City & Guilds institute to find out if a certificate has been issued in your name. Something certainly doesn't sound right here. I learnt a long, long time ago, always make a copy (and/or more recently, electronic scan) of any important official paperwork that is to be processed or posted to/by others.
That policy has paid off on numerous occasions, ...believe me!!...

Have you confirmed yourself, that C&G's have issued a certificate in you're name (and when)??

Time to get serious me thinks and involve a solicitor along the lines that Spinlondon suggests...

Been to college twice this week and now I'm told my certs have been claimed, will give them a week and see how it goes what a FAFF.

Unless the college mean they have now claimed them from C&G maybe? I have heard this term being used when theyean they have requested them. But if they are saying they have been claimed as in someone has collected them as in you or an imposter or they have just lost them, then I'd be going to city and guilds too.
