Hi
I've got confused with wiring a replacement electronic ballast to a 2D 4 pin 16w lamp (UK). original ballast was fully wired, replacement is not. I thought i understood but have got confused due to someone posting a picture at work, which conflicts with my belief. see ballast photo
question 1, The letters for live and neutral are replaced with alternating current symbol and a straight line. which is which?
question 2, is wires to lamp holder are 2 brown and 2 blue, i thought they went 2 brown wires to connection points 1 & 2, with the 2 blue going to connections 3 & 4. Or have i got it completely wrong reading the diagram?
can an expert put me right, please
many thanks

The supply terminal polarity does not matter. The squiggly/straight line symbol means AC or DC input.

You can double check the lampholder connections with your multimeter and a good lamp fitted. The two pairs of leads will show continuity due to the lamp filaments, but there will be no continuity along the lamp from one pair to the other.
