I am trying to replace a regular light switch with a switch/outlet combo but am a bit lost. There are 3 separate wires coming into the box and I'm not sure which is the light fixture or how to wire this. All 3 whites are tied together (do I pigtail off those 3 for the connection to new switch?) two blacks are tied with a pigtail going to the switch and the other black is going directly to the switch, So I'm assuming that is the wire coming from the light fixture or is it? The new switch has 1 brass, 1 silver and 2 black connections. I'm just a bit lost in how to wire it. I know to remove the brass tab for constant power to the outlet which is how I want it to operate. Thanks for any help.

Pigtail a white from the wire nut to the silver terminal on the left. The pigtailed black connect to either of the black terminals (these should be linked by a brass tab) the other black on its own and not from the wire nut connect to the brass screw. Connect bare ground to the green terminal.

So one of the black terminals on the new switch will be empty? I just want to make it clear that I would want constant power to the outlet and the switch to only control the light. Thanks.

Yes if the tab between them is still in place it doesn't matter as this tab connects them together so your permanent hot pigtail will feed the switch and receptacle.

Look at Westy with all the proper US terminology!

Be going down to the hood to pick up some honeyz next. Or the crib. Or something.
