Discuss Cooker not getting power in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

My boyfriends step dad came round and we have found out both sockets are working so it’s definitely something behind the cooker, although we didn’t have the right screw driver to take this out so that’s as far as we got. So it could be a fuse or loose wire behind that we are thinking?
This is where an electrician comes in. To fill in the gaps in expertise lacking amongst family members. Please keep safe and give someone local a call.

The problem may not be behind the switch. Check it, by all means, but if it’s ok, there may be an outlet plate behind the cooker or in an adjacent cupboard.
More likely, a loose connection can happen at the appliance, as those are the parts that are connected by a homeowner and may not be as tight as it should be.

My dads going to come and check behind the cooker so failing that we will get an electrician in, I think it maybe as everything the previous owner fitted doesn’t seem to be fitted right.
