correct fuse

hello everyone,

im new to the electrical world and would like to pick up as much helpful hints and tips as i can.

like calculating the correct fuse size to put in a plug for different appliances. i know you should check the user manual but in some cases this is not posable. any hints and tips .

Find the power/wattage then divide by voltage ! ohms law v = r * i therefore i = p/w divided by v.
Hope this helps !

For appliances upto 720w use 3amp fuse (red)
for appliances from 720w-1200w use 5amp fuse (black)
for appliances from 1200w-3120w use 13amp fuse (brown)
etc etc

Hey.

theres usually a rating plate or sticker on the appliance somewhere detailing the voltage. wattage and amps.

Some of the newer appliances that come with the sealed plugs even say on the plugtop use 5A or 13A fuse only.
