CSCS ECS card??

Well, the time has come when Ive finally be told I need to have a CSCS card for one contractor I work for.
Can anyone enlighten me to what I need and how to get it?

At 42 now I'm probably 'old skool' to most of you. I've been the Qualified manager of my own NICEC company now for 20+ years as an Approved contractor.

There seems to be some confusion as to whether its a CSCS card or a ECS card.

Some advice please gentlemen.

if you trained before 2000 i dont think you need an nvq but you need to check, you definitely dont need one to get the card but you might to be graded electrician

im guessing you have your inspection and testing

It was C&G 236 back in my day lol. Parts 1,2 and C course. (I'm a proper sparky

i did think there was some bit that says if you done the job for 5yr ya ok with us

I got asked for a CSCS card from a Agency i asked which one, as ECS is normally Electricians.
ECS to them is to prove that you have the qualifications
CSCS is the H&S onsite.

so in their books if you got CSCS and the Qualifications check out .. your OK!!
Might be a way around paying the ECS Rates
