^^ I do similar.... Draft copy, remedial, eicr issued as satisfactory, along with relevant additional certs.

Try telling the average letting agent that an unsatisfactory report and MWC make it satisfactory.
That might be, but what you are doing does not comply with BS7671.
 
Where does BS 7671 preclude the issuing of a draft report?

I don't really understand why the first EICR has to be "draft"? It sort of implies you've not finished the test & inspection work?

If the form is electronic (I use Excel) then if there is any remedial work done (with appropriate certificate, if relevant), it is quite easy to update the EICR and re-issue it (with a different report number). It takes just a few minutes to delete the no-longer relevant observations and change it to SATISFACTORY (assuming it now is), save and resend (I send them as PDFs).
