working on a job which is a large refurbished building on 3 levels
when a wing is finished the board serving it is livened up and
the lighting and power for that wing is left on after local testing
however no protective bonding has been carried out yet to any services
that require it.The building has extensive metallic pipes, gas ,water ,heating etc
which links to all areas ,all not bonded, plumbers still working on pipes off
main pipe work.

firm taking no notice of concern I raised about it when I heard of the plans to do this

what would you do.

The boards on each level must be sub mains then mate fed from a plant room or something. Are the utility supplies not earthed at the incomer:confused:

No there is no bonding at all at the the main switch rooms where the origin of the supplies are
only the main earthing conductor is connected.

All circuits from the local dis boards are fed via rcbos including the lighting
The lift plant is also live, the lift motor and shaft lighting etc are supplied via mcbs

The heating plant room is also live which contains a control panel which feeds pumps/valves etc
all fed via mcbs

If the install is completed enough for sub main distribution, then it shouldn't be far off wiring wise and services wise to carry out the bonding whether temporary or permenent

Its got to be done eventually,so why not use your initiative and either do it or ask for permission to do it
It would have to be a silly overlord to turn down that request

In the end you have pointed out the potential danger and that is a responsible act on your part

If they do not act, then how commited are you to forcing the matter to H+S

The other question you must ask yourself is whether the bonding is actually required just yet

It could be that although there are lots of pipes and such, nothing may actually be connected to any of the services,so may not yet be required
