Dear All,

I Have a problem, if we have load 2000 watt (41,7 Amp at 48 V DC) and distance 100 meter. so we will propose to use cable 70 mm2. We will put DC PDB (in DC PDB we put two metal (for + and -)and one MCB 50 A) near from equipment(10 m). After DC PDB(output MCB), will we use cable with diameter 16 mm2, or must 70 mm2?

Thanks,

Riefa

Oh dear.....
you can't just guess this kind of thing.....you really shouldnt be doing anything at all without any knowledge.
Leave it to the professionals

Thanks, for your advice.
I Know how to calculate the diameter, but I don,t sure about this case.
after I went to site, actually no problem we use cable with diameter 16mm2 for short distance from DC PDB junction to equipment (current carrying capacity of cable enough for load). and use 70 mm2 for long distance from rectifier to DC PDB junction.:)

regards.

This was for either a wind turbine or solar set-up wasn't it? Well the cable calcs you need to be looking at are in the the regs book just look at cable calculations for volt drop or something like that (don't have the book to hand).
