As far as qual's goes, and in the wish to blow my own trumpet, I've got

BEng(Hons), HND, ONC all in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
2381 16th Ed
2391-01 I&T

doing the 17th update in September.

what shall I do next? what career options are there for someone as brill as me? but wishing to remain 'hands-on'??

As soon as he puts hes got a degree on his CV no one will employ him as a spark, more likely put him in the office.

Yeah... that's why I don't put it on the CV for sparkie jobs. Had my time in the office and I hated it. Made me quite ill in fact.
