I am a semi retired former multiple business owner and property investor who's bored. I have found a small Electrical company for sale I would like to buy I to and grow but I need a younger ambitious partner to run the day to day affairs. I will help lead growth, strategy, funding, accounts etc. Thought I would post something on this forums to see if any aspiring Managing Directors out there. It would be South London based.

Hi, what sort of market would you be looking at going into, and what did you have in mind regarding the responsibilities of the role day to day? Providing the majority of the role would be off the tools, then I would be very interested.

Just to give you some context, I'm 40, mortgage free with teenage kids, and a wife on good money in a full time job. We're very much in a transistional phase right now, but undecided on what to do next. I've already built a domestic electrical and plumbing business from scratch in 2008, to a team of 6 in 2016, however, I never came off the tools and the business quickly became a chore to run. I downsized to just myself and an apprentice, but we've really just been going through the motions. I've tried to find a partner myself a couple of times, but finding someone in the trades with business acumen, or even clear objectives hasn't been easy and so far I've been unsuccessful.

Feel free to reply if I sound like I may fit what you're looking for. I'd be happy to chat further and see if we're on the same page.

Mark.

Mark thanks for your responce, I've met with the Vendor and I am just trying to work out the way forward. I can confirm it's mostly a hands off role, I think I could help grow this business. Is there a way we can direct message on this forum? If not will share publicly some contact details.
