what's the deal with the electricians arms and trusted advisor status on people's profiles?
Do you have to be a member for so long?
I've only just thought about it really
Thanks.

Hi ian, honestly not sure about that 1. When I got arms entry before I left, I think I sent in a business card & letterhead but that was self employed.
There is something on the forum that tells you what to do, as you've got over 100 in, it should flash up on screen telling you your entitled to access & giving a link.
Failing that contact one of the mods & they'll explain.

Okay thanks for the info specialist :)

I thought you had to prove some form of trade status before arms access was agreed.... But the lowering of standards would suggest just posting may be entry status now...

think it still is. either S/E or employed as a spark.

I can't remember what I did to get into the arms, it was years ago.

An for the trusted status, I believe that was down to being vetted to see you had suitable knowledge to be a mentor in the trainee section of the forum.

To gain access to The Arms, you need to prove to the staff you are working in the trade and have 100+ posts. I did it by sending an invoice to them.

do they not contact you via a message then as I've got over 100 + or is it upto me to get in touch with them?

There is a thread somewhere which tells you what to do, but essentially I messaged @GMES when I'd reached over 100 posts and asked him what he'd like proof wise. An invoice was acceptable so I uploaded it to our conversation. He was waiting for confirmation from other staff that this was OK, but I bribed him with a banana smoothy, job done :)

@Ian1981 as @SparkyChick said just drop me a pm with proof you are in the trade and I should be able to grant you access, as long as you're not a plumber in disguise  you should be good to go.
