hello there
i'm installing an earth electrode for a three bed house thats never had an earth!!!!
i just wanna know if i definately need a 100ma time delay rcd(100 quid?!)
i've already got a 100a main switch/63a 30ma rcd/63a 30ma rcd split wylex 17th distribution board
is it absoloutly neccesary for a rcd main switch when i'm protecting ALL circuits with the 30 ma rcds anyway.
i havent done any tests on the electrode yet but i dont wanna go all the way to the job without the right gear
any help would be very very handy
cheers

I'm only recently qualified, but as far as I'm aware, if all your circuits are protected by Rcd's, then a 100amp main switch is fine on a TT.
I'm hoping some one with more experiance will confirm.

This a bit of a grey area, as you need to ensure that the manufacturers state that the consumer unit that you are housing these RCBO's or RCD's in IS class II or of all insulated construction.

Not all state this.
