Erbauer Drills any good

MY Estwing Hammers are 38 years old . Most of my tools I have bought second hand (mainly festool etc) .I am the charity shop king (High end shops....I look absolutely amazing when i go out !) Ive never bought a new car etc. All my camera gear. hifi gear and expensive watches all second hand . I agree fully with you. I think "decent " is a bit of a understatement ....I'm a few steps up the ladder

much the same with me. henry from acar boor for £2: Hitachi 24V SDS drill £70 2nd hand: Canon EOS 40D would not switch on £40, but after a few times inserting and removing the battery, it fired up and is 100% working. most expensive thing i have bought is my Toyota Hiace. Bought for £1500 wiith 170,000 on the clock and a few dents. Had it 7 years now, only bills for serviceable items (timing belt kit and clutch). If Clarkson could not destroy it's brother, then good enough from me..

So...

I bought the drill ( couldn't resist a deal ) 2 x 18v batteries and a nice carry bag

It has a heck of a lot of torque , (more than my old hitachi) it smashed 3 inch wood screws in with ease

It doesn't feel as good quality in the hand as say a more expensive dewalt or milwakee but these brands are like 3 or 4 times the price

My only issue with it , is seems all or nothing ( although it claims variable speed ) when you pull the trigger. Its a bit of a beast.

My old hitachi had a better degree of variable control and I knew how much welly to give it.

I would happily use my old drill on a consumer unit ( I woudn't ) but I would feel confident to get the correct tightness

The Erbauer I wouldn't go anywhere near a terminal screw with it

If you had to pay the new price for the Erbauer .... This would be the better buy for not a lot more

Even with the Kit batteries , it sure can sink screws..... Now here is a very over looked issue .I know people that are tool tarts . But skimp on using quality screws and the RIGHT types ! This make a HUGE difference . A cheap screw is not worth it in the end !!

Just gonna throw in a shout for Hikoki.....had reason to "invest" in several of the multivolt versions,and what a piece of kit

The 1/2" impact wrench is awesome...will quite easily strip M22 ....and the best way i can describe the impact gun,is it feels like a child's toy with a nuclear reactor fitted

Got a pal who lives for Festool and Milwaukee,who was staggered with the little yoke.....after trying to find something it would fail on. Only thing he whined about was the larger battery,but he can keep his 60 quid a month gym fees,and i'll buy 3/4 of another battery to love

I ma about to buy a sliding compound saw. IF i can locate a nice Festool Kapex for the money I will 100% buy one .If not Hitachi/hikoki . They are amazing tools .
