I have provisionally mapped out my network - the broadband will be coming in from the front hallway and from there it will be connected to the switch and other IT gear in the top shelf of the storage cupboard on the first floor.

Now I cannot decide whether to go with solid core or twisted core ethernet cables.

I will be running two outdoor POE IP cameras powered from a POE Switch - so no need for extra power cable.

For outdoor cameras you need to use UV-resistant outdoor cable, something like these:
Depending on your total length needed, the cost-effective solution might be to buy a 305m (1000 feet) reel of cable that can do both indoor and outdoor work.

However, you might need LSOF for indoors and so it might be cheaper to use CAT-5e for outdoor (as cameras would be fine at 100M speed) and get LSOF CAT-6 for indoors routes.

For outdoor cameras you need to use UV-resistant outdoor cable, something like these:

Only if it surface mounted, clipped direct. If the cables are installed internally and drilled though to the camera, or installed in suitable containment, then an exterior grade of cable is not necessarily needed
