Hi,
Just bought a Tesla. Live in a Condo with outdoor parking. Need to get Co-Owners permission to install a charger. Have to present a plan and answer all questions, safety, security etc etc.. Will do partly or all myself but get professionally inspected by a certified Electrician.

The supply is on the side of a brick building. There is 8" of grass then a parking lot. My charger post will be in the grass, 28' from the supply. Plan is to bury the cable in the grass portion. We are looking at 60 amp, 240 volt install with a meter next to the supply. We have 1 x 100 amp circuit available.

Questions:

How deep must the cable be buried?
What cable protection is required, PVC (type?), conduit?

Be the ditch has to be 24 inches to the top of the pipe or wire. They have all kind of cable that’s approved for underground without pipe just stub up the the charger and panel with PVC. I’m sure you have electrical parts houses that carry it all and you can buy by the foot which you don’t need much. You need # 6/3 with a ground wire size. I don’t understand what you mean by a 100 amp available?

You would need 11/2 PVC pipe to fit wire and sheath

Thanks very much for the info. 100 amp, I meant the panel is 100 amp.
