Gents,

What is your view from this this clause from BS5266?

If you have a lobby with that is part of an escape route that has one fitting, I have never seen an additional fitting being added to satisfy this clause. Even in rooms with two fittings, I have rarely seen both being used as emergency versions??

Dees this not have to be looked at in a practical sense? If you have an intermediate escape route lobby 3/4sqm with one light where the entrance door hasn't even closed by the time you open the exit door, putting another emergency light/ exit light here is excessive.

Also a storage/plant room that is 4/5sqm with one fitting? I have never seen an additional emergency fitting put in these rooms

The requirement is a relatively new inclusion so there will be many installations which do not comply.
