The phone rings and it turns out the job is just round the corner, complaint is of a total loss of power.
What steps are you going to take to ascertain the problem?

This happened to me a week or so before Christmas.
 
Check your own electricity, to see its not a power cut before loading the van :D
The tv is on, you're glad of the callout because bloody eastenders is on:)
You know the problem is at the property because all the streetlights are on.
 
Find wether the customer is 90 years old with Alzheimer's and make sure she either has a token meter or bill?
 
Property has 3 students late 20s, sounds like we're coming to a diagnosis though
 
I'm going to give you the point Floody. It was a rental property inhabited by 3 Indian marine engineering students, South Tyneside College is world famous for it's marine courses, the credit on the prepayment meter had ran out and they didn't have the sense to top it up.
