Discuss Fixing storage heater in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

Anyone would think the storage heaters are being fixed to the ceiling.... ?

With the feet fixed proper the only problem might be some daft burger sitting on them and forcing from the wall. ?

If you have checked weight capability of fixings and compared to storage heater then shouldn't be an issue. Would much prefer a solid fixing though

You must have a better class of customer.

I worked for a company that did maintenance for the schools. One particular hschool in Dundee was heated by storage heaters…. Dozens of them.

Typical job sheet:

“Heater detached from wall” ….. not pulled out the wall…. The bracket was still there. They’d yanked it and broke off the side screws

“Loose front panel” ….. wasn’t even there. Kids had removed the front panel, and I found it outside at the bottom of a big snowy hill. Sledging on it

“bent top panel” …. Had been leaned on / sat on until the top was so bent in, it was touching the thermostat terminals when next leaned on. Crackly!

Any number of missing control knobs, pulled out flexes and heaters turned off at the wall (even when heaters and switches were behind cages)
