I expanded the switch box in my master bedroom from a two gang to a three gang so that I could add a fan control switch. One of the existing switches controls an overhead light and the other controls a wall outlet. I made the assumption that the power to the ceiling fan was ran to the switch box since that was how it was run in the other rooms I added fan control switches to. Unfortunately, that was not the case and the fan's power was actually run to wall outlet. The fan control switch sends the signal to the fan wirelessly, so it does not need to be connected to the fan's power wires to run. However, it does need to have a load on it in order to power on and function. Is there some way to wire it in to the existing switches to provide the needed load? Or is there something that I could buy to create/simulate the load so that the switch can function? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
