Hi,

I originally had this post:

http://www.electriciansforums.co.uk...ical-forum/71644-connect-2nd-siren-box-7.html

to add a 2nd siren box. I am trying to add a gsm auto dialler, but the issue i have now is that the voltage on BELL +- and STROBE +- does not change when the alarm is activated. i have had the gsm unit tested and it does work on both + and - triggering. so the gsm box needs the voltage to either drop to 0v or jump to 12v in order to activate the unit. my neighbour has the same alarm fitted as me but only 1 siren box and the unit works on his.

thanks in advance....

the + voltage won't change. it's the - that triggers bell and strobe. have you got a diagram of how you've wired it.?

its one i bought off ebay. sends me text messages and the sim needs to have numbers stored as #1, #2 etc. dont think it has a brand on the box...

Have this feeling its an imported china job.....looking back on your posts one of us could have supplied & fitted new new digital system with texted digi for £300

It's a U.K. based seller and spoke to him a few times and we have proved the unit works fine it's a grounding issue in the alarm system. Unit is made in uk.

ok as suspected it is a china import, and will not work with 3 or vodafone pay as you go.....but will work with o2...supply connected to aux, and input 1 to bell + & -

i have a EE sim in it. ive tried connecting input 1 to bell + or bell - without any luck. my version has jumpers on the board for + and - triggering

Its either programmed incorrectly or not compatible with uk sim....
You have a basic ade alarm, and you are trying to make a Rolls Royce alarm out of it......If you want full text or info on your mobile fit a purpose built British alarm such as Texecom. Replacement panel with text digi, and lcd leypad, and 5 prox tag would cost aprox £150...this would text zone area, name etc

No thats just the control panel, lcd keypad and coms unit supplied, but either swop out yourself or get someone to fit...will work with sensors and bellbox you have. Plus any problems I can do a remote download to help program.

Been doing some testing and it looks like bell - has reading so isnt 0v so looks like it's getting some back feeding but trying to find out how. If I remove the bell- wire then it reads 0v
