Yes, noticed that. Lots of discussion about that kind of thing - asked NICEIC inspector about it on last assessment - he said leave it alone. Asked him about requesting change to PME to overcome the problem - he reckoned TNS with 951 clamp and acceptable Ze is always preferable to PME. Who am I to disagree?
yeah just enough space to fit the pc as well
Are those Gizmo's still around that sent the metre backwards while using the free leccy?? The one's i remember where 2 16mm singles coming out of an epoxy filled plastic IP type box.... Think they just rammed the two tail into the meter cable connections ....very quickly, ...to minimise the splashing and arching that went with it!! ...lol!!!
Well it's about time I show you guys how it's done in Africa. Here's an installation I got called to today by the building management company. There's been a recent history of BMS fire alarm episodes where stairwell pressurisation fans for the block of flats above this retail premises has been causing an annoyance. This was the DB for the retail premises.

The DB main breaker looks like it was installed by a complete imbecile who had nothing in his toolbox apart from a hammer and chisel. After speaking to the tenant it turns out that the breaker has had a history of tripping for 'no apparent reason' over the last few months.
Oh, I can only watch and learn from the pro's. Once you get past the main impact of the images you need to revisit them and enjoy some of the more subtle nuances and gems. My personal favourite is the labeling of the 'phase rotation' on the toilet extract fan... what you complaining about Marvo?? lol!!
I was pretty shell shocked by now and stupidly assumed I'd seen the worst. I was about to run a local test on the BMS fire detection and I was greeted by this;

At that point I'd seen enough. I put the testers and tools away and dragged out the camera.
I've also got some classic pictures of the rest of the DB if anyone's actually interested. Don't worry I completely understand if you've seen enough already.
Correct... Building regs
The Wiring Regs just state the accessory must be fit for purpose / location etc
no regulation, just a building reg I think
i believe its 300mm from the edges of the sink??
What the hell did he use?
this just some of the faults on this job, u may need to look closely. If you have GOT to use trunking at least make it neat!
There's nothing wrong with it, the electrician 'installed' the bag on the fire detector because the heat or smoke from the DB below was causing it to alarm. After complaints from the other tenants about the noise of the pressurization fans in the stairwells this was his answer to the problem.
