How do I wire this plug up as the wires are not colour coded

It's for a electric griddle pan, it had a US two pin plug which I cut off and thought just wire up with a UK plug but the wires are not colour coded so what should I do?

Or have I messed up?

Do not connect it.

It's probably 120 volts.

It's no good for the UK, which is around 230 volts.

It would cost more than its worth in postage.

It would certainly heat up faster at 240V! I have a large 240-120V transformer to power my American kitchen appliances here.
