How to save money on costly rcbo's

Well this is a new one on me, new build, very expensive large house, 1 x rfc and radial crammed into in one 20amp rcbo x 2 and multiple circuits in the three 6 amp rcbo's?

Looks like a poor design with no spare ways so have ended up doubling and tripling up at the board

I must admit have done this when adding to an already jammed packed existing board

But on a brand new install it’s just lazy not to go out and buy a bigger board and some more rcbos

Remember a spur can be taken at the origin of the circuit. This would still be one circuit.

As Dusty says though, it seems poor on a new build to have no spare ways from the start.

Those 3 cables in a 6A RCBO are not three circuits, they are one.

Technically yes they may be but personally I think it is just poor design and bad practice.

i have been using rcbo boards for ages

I only fit RCBOs can’t remember the last time I fitted a dual RCD board.

The initial cost is only appreciated when there is a fault in an individual circuit and it only affects the solitary circuit and you haven't lost half the installation until the spark arrives

It’s just classy and that’s how I’m carrying on!
I only quote on RCBO boards and my sales pitch gets the job every time - plus I don’t think they know what I’m going on about so say yes to get rid of me!
