Hi all, if you have a consumer unit with holes in the top bigger than 1mm but it is butted up against the ceiling is this acceptable? as it is not readily accessible? but technically would be if you lifted upstairs floorboards?

The CU needs to have an appropriate IP Code to meet the requirements of BS 7671.
Any fire within the CU must be contained, & in your case it may not be😎
