Ireland ET101 earth bonding - mechanical protection

Good morning,
I'm looking for answers to these two questions about Ireland ET101 standards, since I can't seem to find specific indication:

- Should the metal frame of a plasterboard wall /drywall positioned inside a room of a building be earthed as a main equipotential bonding?

- Wirings positioned inside a wall at a depth of less than 5cm must have metal plate as mechanical protection, what thickness should this metallic plate have?

No and cables installed less than 5cm need RCD protection if they are not protected by an earthed metal containment, such as sheathing or conduit.

They are permitted to have mechanical protection also without the use of an rcd or earthed metallic containment or an earthed metallic screen of a cable which can be used as a protective conductor.

The metal frame shouldn't require bonding as it won't be an extraneous-conductive-part. This is more for engineering services entering the building (e.g. water, gas, oil); structural steel; sinks/draining boards; often suspended ceiling grids etc. Although some of this has been relaxed with I.S. 10101:2020 - however there is a transition period in place between ET101:2008 and I.S. 10101:2020 (which has been extended by four months due to the impact of the COVID-19 restrictions).

Wiring buried less than 50mm does not require metal plate. It must be run in safe zones or in earthed metallic conduit etc.

What is the nature of the application? I see you are listed as being in Italy so just trying to understand why you are interested in ET101? Is this a prefabricated building being shipped to Ireland or something of that nature?

I.S. 10101:2020 - the 5th Edition (and the predecessor, ET101:2008 incorporating Amendment 3 (2018) - the 4th Edition).

There is currently a 28-month transition period in place between these Editions.
