Just a quick one Im having a blank moment

Jaccuzzi bath, all protected by 30mA RCD. One light fitting to replace, its metal bodied, 2W, double insulated 12V

It has a point on the back to bond to..... You know what Im going to ask don't you!

Does it need to be supplementarily bonded to the other metal bits like the carcass underneath? Not very hot on jaccuzzi baths.

It will be under water in the bath, the metal body of the light.

****, you have 2000+ posts!
Doubt you are required to with 30mA RCD protection but as your there, why not... Can't hurt can it?

If it is double insulted then it is not going to present a shock risk (similarly for the 12V (assuming SELV!)) so it is not an exposed conductive part and if it is in the base of a jacuzzi (assuming the jacuzzi is not metal) then it will not be able to introduce an earth potential so not extraneous.

If the installation is protected by ADS and has main bonding as well as the 30mA RCD then supplementary bonding should not be required unless you are considering it as a swimming pool rather than a bath.

Just my thoughts, no supplementary bonding required.
