What do folks find is best way to satisfy 17th on a bathroom install that has no supp bonding and no rcd on lighting? (The spur feeding the jacuzzi will be rcd protected) Do you go for the supp bonding or fit an RCD to lighting circuit?

Yes, that was the next thought. It's a split load brd and we could move the 6A MCB over onto the RCD side but then we are making the separation of circuits worse. Could put in an rcbo instead.

If theres no supp bond there already lighting RCBO would be a way of satisfying regs . Or just had a thought. If the supply to the bathroom is in plastic pipe there is no need to supp bond. If it's in copper cut the supply pipes to the bathroom (turn the water off first!!) and fit either a short length of plastic 15/22 or plastic pushfit couplers this will interrupt the metal in the bathroom from the metal in the rest of the house. we're not worried about conductivity of water only metal. You'd also need to do the same to any rads or towel rails. If you need further advice on water isolation depending on the type of dhw system let me know exactly what you've got there and I'll tell you the quickest and easiest way of doing it.

be much easier to move the mcb :)

Had a similar install recently. Luckily everything was on RCD so no supp. bonding, but the Tub motor had a flying earth on it. Where did you take that to??? The pipes for the hot and main to the tub are plastic, but the g&y must be there for a reason! Would be appricate since I still have access to the tub.

if you are only installing the jacuzzi you dont have to touch the lighting circuit you are only obligated to rcd the jacuzzi.

The one I'm doing doesn't have a flying earth (well not that I noticed on my prelim visit). I guess it may be included on yours for any supp bonding you might want to do.
