Also the description is rather ambiguous. It sounds like you asking about powering a new interior light from an existing outside light? Or is it the other way round?

I want to position a junction box outside but run the supply from a light in the hallway.I would take cable up outside wall into and throught a void to where the light rose is,and attached the box wiring to the light wiring.
 
first you need to know where the N is for the internal light. at the light only , or at the switch as well.
