Just been offered '52 VW Transporter...whaddya' think?

Hi

I've just been offered a 52 VW Transporter, 180K Miles with service history (been looked after) seems all OK with just some rust on inner side of rear wheel arches. Anyone got any idea of price I should offer. Do you reckon something like this is worth about £3K?

Anyone got any opinions on how good they are? Do they have the famous VW reliability?

gearboxes on some of these can be unreliable. give it a good trial run. £2500 seems about right, but i'd want a long mot at that price. mileage is quite high. another 70k its been to the moon
