Hi all. once again i,m looking for some advice from all you valued members, been to look at a job to replace a twin fluorescent weatherproof battern lamp in a commercial kitchen. The heat of the kitchen as caused the lamp to become brittle and actually drop off the ceiling. the twin and earth connecting it as also become brittle. theres no access from above so was thinking of making a small hole in the ceiling to insert a small maintainence free junction box to connect the original twin and earth and some heat resistant flex to connect the new light to and seal the hole with some fire retardant filler, anyone see any problems with this or is there a better way that it can be done.
Regards Daz...

as long as you can strip the T/E back to undamaged cable, sounds like a plan.
