Well he wasnt too happy with me ripping it out nor his other handy work.
As that was actually dogged off an inside socket and fed his garage and his garden which was under plastic roofing all of which id left (just ripped out the supply to it) that he'll only re do it. What do we know though hey?

whats up with that ..is it because he hasn't put a light switch in ?;)

If he wasn't happy with you ripping it out then who gave you permission to remove it?

Must admit I was thinking that. Would have thought the most you could do would be to isolate the circuit, issue the EICR and tell customer it would be dangerous to liven it up again.

So ‘yours’ was the old blue painted stuff in the old colours and he’s added the new bit of T&E that can be seen coming out of the choc block? Is this a new landlord? ;)

Who’s is the double socket?

Has my dad got a secret second house somewhere because that’s the kind of thing he would do? I remember watching him cut an earth wire out on a metal light fitting because “it doesn’t need it, it works anyway”.

Social housing. Tenant has been there 30 odd years. Our electrics were inside the house not in any of the pics obviously. I do the periodics and if any tenants add their own work and connect into our electrics without permission, done by us or a registered spark then it gets pulled out.

hang. On a minute and the land lord told you to disconnect it ,so he must have had the house before he put a tenent in knowing the electrics were dodgy
and he wants you to sort it out .
No. Again re read the posts i put if i go in and there is their own electrics its just what i have to do in terms of ripping it out.

Can't believe the tenant has cut into the landlord's wiring and stuck a chock block there.

No thats all his. He had spurred off the back of a socket in the house taken the cable and very poorly gaffa taped it to a plasric roof through the brick wall where you see that abomination

Judging by the age of the older wiring and socket then, the last EICR by the landlord must have been about 30 years ago ;)
