Hey HW: Love my scopes mate, would be lost without them. Got a 50Mhz analogue & 100Mhz digital sitting on my workbench, used to have a 40Mhz portable as well but got shot of it. Was looking at a 200Mhz 4 channel Tektronix recently but the cost is a bit steep

Not used a usb scope to be fair, I'm pretty old school when it comes to test equipment. I still use a valved signal Genny.

What sort of things are you looking to test with a scope ?.

Valved signal generators is old school I use the usb for waveform analysis on cars looking at CANbus Frequency and duty cycle of different sensors and outputs by modules etc etc
My bench top I use for fixing tv 's mostly lol both are hantek they are alright for the price tbf

I've got a 1970s Telequipment D75 scope - old but very good. Dual timebase, delayed sweep, etc. Has plug in modules for the timebase and y amplifiers - a small mainframe type affair. Very bright trace.

Yep, I'm still awake. The oldest scope I've got is a Robin 20Mhz bench scope from about 1980, served me well for years & still going strong. Going to be my eldest daughters first scope for her workshop.

No you are right, I used to be a mechanic but thought I'd turn my hand at using a bench scope as well to see what the difference was between USB and traditional bench top. Both 60 MHz and it was only one tv

My missus doesn't complain about me buying Shinies once in a while. Goes a bit green & though, when I start drooling over things like New scopes or signal generators

Oh I don't go that expensive Andy, don't know what it is, it's just this urge that says " go on Pete you know you want to" and if I have been to the boozer before hand all the inhibitions seem to vanish, until the bank statement arrives and I get the dreaded call "Pete whats this 30 quid you spent last time you were at ELEX?" I know wimp, but she is all mine and I love her so there.

Fixing TVs can be great fun, especially older CRT sets. Not got the patience to mess about with usb scopes if I'm honest & never take a computer out on service calls, so wouldn't be much use to me.
