I like the look of this new set:

20211001_110126.jpg

Never seen that, Does it play though?

Anyway, Day 112, Set 42105. It’s a boat
Wasn’t really bothered about it, but it is surprisingly big. Lots of beams and gears, and only 20 quid in Tesco. Bought this week.

It actually does float, and I have no idea how I’m going to display it.

Day 113
Set 42112, cement mixer.

One of my recent sets.

Apart from the 2 piece barrel which could have been made from a lot more, it’s a good build. 8 wheel with 4 wheel steering. Working pistons.
Throgh the selection gears, the barrel either doesn’t turn at all, turns as the wheels turn or turns using a handle on the other side.

So this is day 114, 115 and 116. Sorry for the delay, but I’m running out.

These are some older, smaller sets I missed out of the list, just because there’s not much in them.

Well, I haven't logged in for a while (a mix of work and family issues) but I've finally caught up with your posts. How did you find time for work when all those needed building?

Took me forty plus years to build them.

The little ones are mere minutes. Other ones can take hours.
Depends if they’re new…. In numbered bags and you’re following a printed book….
The eBay purchases tend to come in one bag, so you need to sort the parts first or rummage through a 1000 black parts looking for one black pin.
Then there’s squinting looking at online instructions and you can’t tell if the price is black, dark grey or some shade of green…

Just while I’m here…. I’ll add a few more in the coming days. Recent Facebook purchases and one competition prize!

This is an old one I got in a box of random parts… there’s at least 7 sets in various stages of build until I find the necessary parts required.
Set 8824, hovercraft. Propellors turn when pushed forward on wheels, and also pivot when steering.
Special parts in this set, the rubber bumpers around the edge, and the modified bricks that they clip onto.

Set 42040, Fire fighting plane.
Propellors turn when pushed forward, and joystick control on top controls aerofoils (?) and rudder
Comes with load of “water”- a dozen or so clear blue bricks that can be dropped

Set 42099, 4x4 off roader

Uses the new Bluetooth control hub with special motors to give 4 wheel drive power and steering. New technology gives an admittedly large set a very high price.
The smartphone app gives movement, and also reads angles from the servo motors.

Set 42082. Rough terrain crane.
Also known as “Big Red” because, well, it’s big!

Motorised, which controls the rotation, lift, extend and rope of the crane, and also the outriggers.
Manual 4 wheel steering.

Out the same box of bits as the hovercraft on #176, I managed to build this. Set 8862.
Is missing a front wheel, so I’ve pinched one from something else just to get the photo.
It’s pretty big. Pneumatics work ok. Steering is from the light on top of the cab.
