Very sad news indeed. Lucien has been an inspirational, well respected and much liked member of this forum. He'll be very much missed.
You wont believe how true this is. Yesterday I finally finished the restoration of a 132kv outdoor off load isolator. I texted Lucien the picture of the finished switch early Sunday afternoon and just after 5pm he passed away.
When the moon comes out tonight I will salute him...
My heart goes out to Lucien’ family. What terrible news to read about his passing and I will say this that man was a gift from God and showed his brilliance with every word he spoke. I’m personally going to miss him even though I never met him but I loved reading his posts and replies. RIP our brother.I have some incredibly sad news to share with you all..
Lucien lost his battle with cancer just after 5pm today.
He was surrounded by his family, a few friends and passed away peacefully.
There are electrical engineers and then you had Lucien.
Sit down and play this as loud as you can, it seems to be the only song that fits the evening.
I will try and keep you updated with further details unless others do.
We will be sounding our fog horn from the ocean liner RMS windsor castle tomorrow evening after I have warned the village. An eccentric gesture for a kind and eccentric person.
Yes! I first read of his passing on the British Pipe Organs facebook group.I have just discovered another thread of tributes to Lucien in a group about ancient theatre lighting on Facebook - it seems his knowledge and gift for educating was universal.

This was posted - a younger Lucien in happier times (holding a Mercury Arc rectifier, naturally!)
