can you help me, on niceic installation certs in the maximum demand load box, is that for the hole installation or just the modifide or new circuit. and is this measured with a clamp tester ?
any help would be most welcome

Pete,

The good old nic would have you go around the place, switch everything on and measure the current. Great. 1 hour later, when it gets cold, out comes the 2.5kw heater. Now what has happened to the max load?

Use the old rule of thumb, 100a main fuse, 80a max load, 80a fuse, 60a max, 60a fuse, 60a max.

i had my domestic assessment 4 weeks ago and was told the max demand for the installation was 100% of highest circuit plus 40% of remainder
