Hi,

Borrowed someones megger 1552 today to megger an alternator @ 1kv and check windings.

now keeps showing battery symbol on IR test

It was showing fuse symbol as well earlier but not now.

Fuse is not blown (checked with fluke) and new batts reading 12V

anyone had similar - looked through threads cant find anything.

Was dead testing....

are you using rechargeable batteries?

Hi Mac,

Had a similar problem with a works MFT 1553 last year, checked batteries and replaced for new ones but it was still the same, so checked the fuse and noticed the fuse carrier was quite loose around the fuse (correct fuse was inserted), so tightened it by squeezing with long nose pliers and put fuse back in and checked it against the calibration checkbox and log and all was good, was working flawless until apprentice blew the fuse a few months later !

Had a look in there was ok, took it to get repaired guy in shop showed me output voltage was knackered so prob fried the tx in it. Can rember one of the leads falling ouy during a test its a bit hazy but i might have been live when i re inserted the lead.

Guy says hes fixing it for 75 so not the end of the world lol

Just wish it was mine and not someone elses, why couldnt the job havr waited till today is my fluke 1652 c has just arrived ....
