Hi All,

I need to get my Megger calibrated soon and i normally get it done by the wholesalers but wondered how many of you use an online service where they collect it and return it within 4 days and how was your experience?

Thanks

I seem to recall, ages ago, members (present company accepted) getting all sniffy about using anything else than dedicated calibration workshops. Temperature controlled environment, day long testing etc etc.

Me I'd use someone like Mike.

I agree, no doubt I'll be corrected, but IMHO unless you use your MF in a controlled and constant environment, then such a calibration goes out the window a little bit.

I posted this somewhere else :eek:

'I've been reading that very informative periodical
smile.png
Professional Electrician. One piece (by Megger) suggested my 4 year old Megger 1730, is now perhaps obsolete and should consider purchasing the latest model.

The next piece (by Di-Log) trying to debunk myths, titled 'Testing Truths';

'Myth, my Check Box replaces the need for annual calibration. My inspector say's I don't need annual calibration, if I periodically check my meter'

'False, Check Boxes were more commonly introduced in 2005 when Part P was launched. The periodic meter checking process was introduced as an additional check to coincide with your annual calibration. We frequently come across electricians that have been miss-fed this information by their local inspector; they may well be happy for you to not regularly calibrate your meter, but what does your liability insurance say? The guidelines for all monitoring bodies is quoted to be 'As per the manufacturer's recommendation, which is every year'.

:rolleyes:
