Metrel MI 3304 Pat Pro software issues

Hi all, I've recently purchased a Metrel MI3304 BetaPatPlus which, to me is a fantastic machine. However, I'm having trouble installing their software onto my laptop which is operating Windows 7. The software tries and fails to install/setup SQL Server 2005 express. My laptop has a 64Bit operating system which has SQL Server 2008R2 installed. Has anyone else had these issues and managed to resolve them? Metrel has emailed me a link to 'adapted' software but I'm still getting the same results as it is still trying to install SQL 2005 during the setup. Metrel after a considerable length of time still have all their techs scratching their heads over this one. Very disappointed after spending so much money and time trying to sort this out with Metrel that I'm still going to have to record my test results by hand on Monday. Begining to think my hard earned cash would have been better spent elsewhere

Having a similar problem with Metrels InstalLink software for their multifunction tester 2087, its not compatable with windows 7 64 bit systems, looks like I'll have to buy an old computer to run the software!!!!!!

Thanks Murdoch, I've already spoken to Metrel Support and been informed that they do not do compatable software for the instaltest for windows 7.

They said they had no plans to update the software.

You should ring metrel again and have a moan, I went to there factory near leeds as my gamma 3311 kept freezing every 8 tests so I had a whinge at the calibrater who was sorting the problem and he came out with a big box full of freebies like a new storage tool bag worth £40 on ebay loads of pens, new test leads and bits for pat testers. Also got some amazing batteries think they are 3500 not the 2250 crap that came with it!

I have smart pat soft ware that loads via a parrallel port and when I try to download with an adaptor to a usb port it will not have it anyone got any ideas
