Hi,
anybody used/own one of these drills. I needs new drill for 1st fixing timber frame flats. the drill will need to be up to drilling holes with a 25mm auger bit. The motor is only 725w. There's not much choice in the market. Don't want a bigger, heavy drill.

I wouldnt use an sds drill for that. A combi would do it find. Just make sure it has a 13mm chuck.

(You will be there a long time with an sds)

A battery combi would be cheaper as well

You get sds augers wood beavers alike .. .
Sds would do the job well providing you keep you're bits in good nick .

If you are doing a lot of holes i'd rather use a corded sds to my combi save high loaded wear on batteries/drill

That drill you spec'd seems fine . Will drill max 30mm hole in wood

Milwaukee get a good rep from respected members don't see why not give it a go and let us know you're thought's on the drill

Done some internet research, I think the HP2071f Makita percussion drill is more suited for heavy drilling, in timber frame buildings. I thought SDS+ did everything, seems not the case for auger bits in thick timber.

I use a Milwaukee hole hawg or a spline drive rotary drill the spline drive I use 2-3 inch rotary core bits all day long going through solid concrete and never lack for power or torque plus they have a internal clutch that saves those unwanted sprained wrists and broken jaws
